WA again – another record 84%

Western Australia’s renewable energy chalks up another record.

WA is the worlds largest isolated electricity grid

On Monday 12th December 2022 the new record : renewables went to 84% of energy generated. Compared with one month ago on Saturday 12th Nov 2022 renewable energy went to a record of 81% of the generated energy.

This level happened within a half hour period around midday. That’s not very long.

But, think of it this way. The new record highs are due to more renewable energy sources being added to the grid (amongst other reasons). So the amount of time that the green power produces 50% of the grid production is increasing. Same for producing 10%. At some point soon we would see that renewables always, 24 hours a day 365 days a year, produces say 10% of the electricity. Oh, would that be baseload? 🙂
